Research

In 1993, to meet the federal mandate of 23 CFR, the Department of Transportation formed a section to administer its research effort. Research involvement operates at the state, regional and national level, with interactive relationships that provide insight and information to advance the level of knowledge in the field of transportation. Aside from performing research within the department, work is sponsored at the University of Rhode Island and in regional and national organizations.
