Signs are ordered through the RIDOT Sign Shop 222-2378, after approval has been received from the RIDOT Adopt-A-Highway Coordinator. See samples at Sign Specifications.

NON-PROFIT Groups will be provided with small signs at no cost.
Adopt-A-Highway Sign Guidelines

1. All non-profit organizations will be provided with a small sign at no charge. Non-profits may purchase the large sign, however, the Department reserves the right to determine the sign size based on the location and community impact. If a non-profit group chooses to have a large sign and it is approved by the Department, please make the check payable to: State of Rhode Island, Attention: Adopt-A-Highway Coordinator.
2. All profit organizations have the option of purchasing a small or large sign. Please make the checks payable to: State of Rhode Island, Attention: Adopt-A-Highway Coordinator. The Department reserves the right to determine the size of the sign based on location and community impacts. There is a charge for both the large and small signs for profit organizations.
