The Rhode Island Sponsor-A-Highway Program is a beautification program that is managed by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division. The Sponsor-A-Highway program is a means for businesses, private citizens, organizations, non-profit groups, and/or individuals to help their state by sponsoring a two-mile segment of a highway. The highways currently in the programs are I-95, I-195, I-295, Routes 4, 10, 24, 78 and 146, U.S. 6, and the Airport Connector.

The sponsor chooses the company and a monthly fee is paid. In exchange the company cleans a two-mile stretch of high speed roadway 19 times per year. This is very beneficial to the state of Rhode Island's anti-litter efforts and makes a tremendous contribution in the reduction of litter along our highways, helping to keep out state beautiful. In recognition, a Catch the Wave Ride with Pride Sponsor-A-Highway sign is placed on the highway with a 2' x 4' sponsor panel, our way of thanking participants in the program. Below is a listing of the segments currently in the program. Please feel free to contact Eva Bernardo, Coordinator at 734-4884 should you have any questions about the program.
